A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

I am a Wiltshire based ceramic artist. The sensory and experimental journey of ceramic art, brings such satisfaction; the need to create is fulfilled by exploring various processes.

My research often connects with the concept of Wabi Sabi, a Japanese aesthetic which centres on enjoying natural simplicity. Giving in to the natural innate qualities of clay I echo the essence of objects and textures, some that happen by chance, without a constant need to pursue perfection.

Swindon Open Studios is organised by a committee of volunteers who are passionate about art and keen to publicise each other and the artwork being produced in Swindon.

Swindon Open Studios has been running for several years and we are hoping to build on its previous success - the first Open Studios was in 2004 with a follow up in 2006. From 2008 on-wards the Open Studios event has been held annually.

Ceramic Workshops

I am able to provide a range of ceramics classes, workshops and events at your school or club.

Immerse yourself and a group of students in a creative ceramics class.

Students not only progress their pottery skills, but have lots of fun too.

I am based in Swindon, but I am happy to travel. (subject to availability)

Feel free to contact me for further information and let me know if you have any ideas or requirements.

Swindon Open Studios encourages artists to use their own homes and studios (you can even use your kitchen or dining room as an exhibition space) but understand some may prefer to share exhibition space with a friend or use a different, more public venue. You will usually be responsible for your own public liability insurance so you should confirm this with any venue if you take that route.
